The SC Department of Transportation will be closing Rimer Pond Road on Monday, April 14, to begin a construction project to realign the existing roadway. The road will be closed for approximately four months, and pending any delays, the new bridge should be reopened to traffic by August 31. During construction, traffic will be detoured via Trading Post Road, Langford Road, and Wilson Boulevard, as marked with orange detour signs. Barriers will also be placed on Rimer Pond Road at both ends of the construction area. SCDOT is also notifying Richland 2 about possible impacts on schools and bus routes.
