Congratulations
to the band members from Kelly Mill Middle School for scoring
big! And to Richard Black for an invitation to the National
Youth Leadership Forum: Advanced Medicine & Health Care at
Hohns Hopkinss University. Will he be a new doctor in
Blythewood one day? Also congrats to the Cobblestone Junior Tennis
Team! Keep going!
Now you Know...The
answer to last week's question: We have a "Self-Guided
Walking Tour" guide of the historic places to see in
Blythewood at Town Hall. The Boney/Hykil house built in 1859
is now the Allstate Insurance building. It has served as a family
home, a printing shop for the local poet J. Gordon Coogler, as well
as a gift shop. Our new assistant superintendent from District 2,
Keith Price, was the first to answer the question and is the
recipient of a little treat from Town Hall.
Did you Know....Another historic spot in Blythewood is 110 McNulty
Street. This house was built ca. 1905. In 1911 Miss Frances A.
Powell moved to Blythewood and boarded there, and later bought the
house. What was Miss Powell's occupation at that time?
What other businesses where in that historic house?
