Now you know..In December
1985, Trinity United Methodist Church held the first Blythewood
Christmas Tree Lighting. Trinity hosted the event with all
the other churches in Blythewood participating.
A huge Thank You...
to the Town of
Blythewood for sponsoring the
Blythewood Christmas Parade. The Blythewood Chamber of
Commerce along with many helpers coordinated
the parade with so many behind the scene details. A big thank you
to Kitty
Kelly and Chris Keefer and the parade committee who put in
many hours getting it organized and set up. Plus we
can't thank the Blythewood Chamber, Digital Bridge and
Petsmart enough for donating 2000 stuffed animals to give to
the children who came to the Christmas Parade. I
can tell you first hand that the kids were thrilled with their new
stuffed animals. And thanks to the largest and
greatest crowd ever to the 19th annual Blythewood Christmas
Parade.
Our Town Hall Intern/Reporter writes...
Blythewood
High School student, Daniel Malkiewicz recently conducted a
community service project addressing hunger in our schools. Daniel
provided holiday meals to four families at Blythewood High School,
and two to Westwood High School families. “It feels good to know
that you provided a meal to someone less fortunate than you,” said
Daniel. With help from Food Lion of Blythewood and God’s Storehouse
of Columbia, Daniel was able to make a difference in the community.
“I couldn’t have done it without the supporting cast of the Town of
Blythewood staff, Smiley Tynes of God’s Storehouse, and Food Lion
of Blythewood. All of them made it possible for me to make a
difference,” said Daniel.
