On behalf of the entire Blythewood Town Council, we invite you to join us for our first-ever
Blythewood Small Business Forum on Wednesday, April 22. As you will see in the program
brochure, we have a full morning of informative sessions intended to help you work smarter, not
harder, in running your small business.
Small businesses are having a big impact on our local, regional, and state economy. The Small
Business Administration reports that in South Carolina, small businesses created 20,465 net new
jobs in 2012, with the biggest gain in the smallest firm size category of 1-4 employees. The
number of self-employed people in 2013 grew by 4.6 percent over the previous year. Small
businesses are indeed the engine of economic growth in South Carolina, and here in Blythewood
we want your business to thrive.
The forum will be held from 8:00 AM to l:00 PM at The Manor at Doko Meadows,
Blythewood's new conference and events center. The Manor is located in the heart of the town's
Doko Meadows park, next to Town Hall (171 Langford Road) near the intersection of Wilson
Boulevard (US 21) and Langford Road.
Please feel free to extend this invitation to anyone else who would be interested in attending and
learning more about running a small business. I personally look forward to meeting you at the
Blythewood Small Business Forum on April 22.
Sincerely.
J. Michael Ross
Mayor
