The Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce invites you to the Monthly Breakfast Meeting, September 8 at Doko Manor.

This will be the annual high school football coaches meeting where the WHS and the BHS coaches and athlectic directors will present their outlooks and take questions about the current year.
Doors will open at 7:00, with breakfast at 7:30, catered by Lizard's Thicket and Iron Brew of BW.  Please register in advance
at www.blythewoodchamber.com and go to the Eventbrite link.

For more than ten years,
the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce has been in charge of the town's annual Christmas parade.  However, the chamber board has recently decided to focus more on traditional chamber activities and has begun the transition to a citizen-committee-run Christmas parade with the town's blessing.
The goal is to have the parade continue to act as a college scholarship fundraiser for deserving, local-area high school seniors.  This year's parade, on Sunday, December 13th, will be run by the chamber and the citizens committee together; with the 2016 parade run solely by the citizens committee.  The chamber would like to hold the first committee meeting in mid-September.  If you are interested in being a part of this exciting new effort, please contact the chamber's office manager, Kitty Kelly at (803) 712-3806 or kitty@blythewoodchamber.com.

Did You Know: "The caterpillar is a voracious eater, capable of consuming an entire milkweed leaf in less than five minutes. They gain about 2700 times their original weight, and in the process, excrete an abundant quantity of “frass” (or waste). "
"The Monarch butterfly can cumulatively lay about a maximum of 250 eggs per day at the rate of one egg at a time. The witnessed highest number of eggs laid by a monarch butterfly in captivity is 1179."
Thanks for the facts, @monarch-butterfly.com.

Did You Know: Kidzone has  a great website for kids ages preschool to 5th grade. Kids can learn about the Monarch butterfly, work on puzzles, plus many other activities.

Fact...  "Most predators have learned that the monarch butterfly makes a poisonous snack.  The toxins from the monarch's milkweed diet have given the butterfly this defense.  In either the caterpillar or butterfly stage the monarch needs no camouflage because it takes in toxins from the milkweed and is poisonous to predators.  Many animals advertise their poisonous nature with bright colors...  Just like the monarch!"  Thanks for the fact, Kidszone!

Welcome back to school!  Town Hall wishes the students, teachers, administrators, the support staff and the parents
