Sunday, April 30 2:00 to 5:00 pm Docents will share wonderful stories about the old historic store sites.  Come hear from community members who grew up in Blythewood and remember what is was like in the "good old days".  The exhibit hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturdays, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and Sundays 2:00 to 5:00 pm. 803-333-8133 100 McNulty Stret The Way We Worked, created by the National Archives, is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institute and the SC Humanities Council, plus funding from Richland County and the Nord Family Foundation. The 4th Annual Midlands Gives is Tuesday, May 2 from midnight to 11:59 pm. Hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation, Midlands Gives is a 24-hour online giving event, raising money and awareness for local nonprofits in eleven Midlands counties. Since the inception of Midlands Gives in 2014, over $3,851,603 has been raised.  For more information go to midlandsgives.org May is around the corner which means the  Blythewood Farmers Market will be back each Wednesday from May 3 through next fall. The Walk-in-Butterfly Experience is $8.00 per person  ( ages 2 & under free)  Guests will be able to feed and enjoy the beauty of 6 different species of butterflies in this signature attraction.  Septic Assistance in Twenty-five Mile Creek Watershed   Richland County Conservation Department has a new opportunity for residents in the Twenty-five Mile Creek Watershed to receive 60% financial assistance to repair or replace failing septic systems.  This watershed includes portions of northeastern Richland County and western Kershaw County (parts of Blythewood, Sandhill, Elgin, Pontiac, and Lugoff), as well as a sliver of southern Fairfield.  They are sending a direct mailer to everyone with an address in that area. Bridge Posting... A recent inspection was conducted by the SCDOT bridge inspection team on  S-40-369, Mullis Road, over 25-Mile Creek. Based on the inspection and repairs, a weight restriction of 8 TONS per axle and 33 TONS GVW was implemented effective April 13, 2017. The DOT does not recommend vehicular traffic that exceeds the posted limits on this structure. A map indicating the bridge location and truck detour is posted in Town Hall.
