Did You Know...The Blythewood Scrapbook tells of a very poor rural Blythewood during the depression.  Yet the people in this area didn't recognize much change. Land could be bought for as little as 50 cents an acre. Change started for the Blythewood community after World War II into the 60's and 70's. A number of horse farms populated Blythewood.  Families built in the area for privacy, acreage and "peace" as stated in the Scrapbook.  We are so fortunate to live in this community, still steeped in tradition, family and peacefulness! Check out the Town of Blythewood's website, www.townofblythewoodsc.gov  to see how our town has grown and what is has to offer.

Community Prayer Walk: Perfecting Faith Church is leading  the annual prayer walk throughout Blythewood on Saturday, October 11, starting at 8:45 AM. Everyone is invited to walk along and lift up the community in prayer. From the starting point at Kellie Ballentine’s Allstate Agency (162 Langford Road), walkers will make a left onto Langford, left onto Main, right onto Blythewood Road, right onto Boney, then right onto Oakhurst,  and back left  to Main St.  We will then head down to McLean Rd., right onto Sandfield, then back to Allstate on Langford Road.  Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item so we can prepare baskets for those less fortunate.

FYI...Under the Town Code, yard sale signs cannot be placed on any curb, sidewalk, post, pole, tree, or other surfaces located on or across any public street or right-of-way, or placed on stakes on any property unless permitted by the land owner. We receive many calls at Town Hall about this and wanted you to know.

Happy Fall to the many walkers we see from Town Hall each day. What a great way to start the day in Blythewood!
