Who Knew?

The beginnings of rodeo can be traced back to the ranches of the early 1700's, when the Spanish ruled the west.  Duties on the early ranches included roping, horse breaking, riding, herding, branding and
much more.

Where's Tom Sawyer when you need him?

You've probably noticed the beautiful new picket fence that has been installed at the Langford-Nord House recently.  Well, the painting has started and soon the finished product will create a beautiful addition to our town.  Thank-you's to Cindy Nord and the Blythewood Historical Society for such a wonderful contribution to our townscape.

Clear the Tracks!

Speaking of beautification projects...
The underbrush on both sides of the railroad track have been cut down and cleared away and now, The Manor and all of Doko Meadows present a beautiful view from Main Street. What a welcomed sight!   There's no question...Blythewood is definitely on the right track!

The shape of the pattern taken by a barrel racer is known as a clover leaf...although it may be set as a triangle.

Park on the Grass....PLEASE!

Now, when's the last time you heard THAT...but it's true at Doko Meadows.  Parking spaces have been purposefully built with sustainability in mind.  The grassed medians in front of The Manor and several other areas around the park are not just pretty to look at but allow rain water to slowly soak in and get back into the soil to resupply our groundwater.  Very clever on the part of our park designers, don't you think? So, go ahead.....the next time you come to the park for a walk or attend an event at The Manor...pull in and Park on the Grass....PLEASE!!

The only exception is the Farmers Market Lot....
feet only are welcome!

Saddle up!!

It's that time of year again!  The Blythewood Doko Rodeo is coming to town July 26th and 27th.  The excitement of bucking broncos and fast moving bulls will once again thrill the crowds at the former community center property.  Gates will open at 6:00 pm and the pageantry will begin at 7:00 pm.  Get your boots dusted off and plan to join the fun!
