April 26-28th Weekend

Take a magic carpet ride or just jump in the car for a road trip.  Whichever you choose, it's a great weekend to enjoy the talents and creativity of others.
This Weekend in Blythewood
April 26th, 27th and 28th

Does that ring a BELL ?

Gas up the car and head toward Lake City, SC 'cause it's the final weekend of The Artfields Epic Southern Artfest Competition and Celebration. You don't want to miss the chance to cast a vote for one of Blythewood's great artists, Carl Bell.  Carl's BLUE HERON painting is on display at The Main Street Mercantile.  Voting will end at 4pm Saturday, so be sure you get there early and help Carl win a great grand prize!  GOOD LUCK, CARL!!!

You're in Luck!!!

Mother Nature was not so kind when the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce sheduled their Glow Ball Golf Tournament in April so, as a result, the tournament has been rescheduled for May 10.    There's still plenty of time  to register for 9 holes of golf played IN THE DARK at the Golf Club of South Carolina at Crickentree. What fun!!!  The shotgun start is at 7:30pm and it's only $100 for a 2 person team or $60 per person.  Come join the fun and help the Chamber raise some scholarship money for our local Blythewood students.

Help Finish the Fight!

No....not that kind of fight...the fight to cure cancer.    Statistics show that we're winning!!  The survival rates are up for every kind of cancer and that's exactly why Bravo Blythewood wants to help the American Cancer Society 'finish the fight'.  Come be a part of the Blythewood Beach Bash, a fun, relaxing event on May 18, being held at Cobblestone Park.    The Beach Bash is in its 5th year and provides a great night of beach music offered up by The Sensational Epics and DJ, Gene Lee.   Wear your shagging shoes to 'cut a rug' under the stars or just bring your lawn chair and sit back and relax.  Either way, it's all about raising money for the ACS.    After the music stops, we all will have made a difference for someone we know, who has been in the fight with cancer.
Make your plans now!

Do Something Nice
for
your Mother...
(Nature)

Give Mother Nature a treat this Monday, April 22, when Earth Day rolls around.  Pick up some trash, plant a tree, recycle those plastic drink bottles or repurpose something you found in your attic.  All those are great ways to show respect and love for this beautiful planet we call home.
Mother Nature will be so proud!

Tea Time!

The tea is brewing over at   the Blythewood Visitors Center.  Come and  enjoy delicious scones or unbelievably tasty bread pudding made by local caterer Mary Ellen Tobias and Linda and Richard Hewlette of The Company of OHS.  Sip a cup of blended tea from the Cornwallis House Tea Co. from Winnsboro, while you sit and chat with a friend.
The self-serve 'tea room' is  serving  every week Tuesday - Friday from
Noon - 5:00 pm.  Bring a friend and enjoy a 'spot of tea' each afternoon.
