Westwood Serves at Doko Meadows – Saturday, November 16, 2013

Westwood Serves at Doko Meadows – Saturday, November 16, 2013

Faculty, staff, parents, and students from Westwood High School came out in honor of this year’s Wishes of Westwood theme – KEEPING IT LOCAL.

“We wanted to honor the Town of Blythewood with a simple act of giving,” said Schiria Wilson, Westwood’s Work-based Learning Coordinator.

Community is one of our Westwood Way Values and this is one way that we as a school could say to our community, the Town of Blythewood “Thank You” as we took on this beautification project.

The sentiment among the students was that “it was work, but it was fun because we worked as a team”.  Westwood Truly Serves!

November 22nd-24th Weekend

Counting What Counts

Not everything that's counted counts but offering your support to The Women's Shelter by attending this year's Thanksgiving  Souper will definitely count and make a difference for some women in need of help.     First brought to Blythewood by New Kirk Presbyterian Church, the Souper is growing to a community-wide effort to help women in crisis that are served by The Women's Shelter, located in Columbia.
For a mere $2 (or a donation of more ) you can buy a bowl of Chick-fil-A chicken soup and enjoy an evening with your family and friends and The Chick-fil-A Cow, as the Thanksgiving season begins.  Count your blessings early and make plans to attend.
