Blythewood High School students to be honored at Monday Night's Town Council Meeting.

At Monday night's Town Council meeting, we'll be honoring some students at Blythewood High School for their efforts in capturing the history of our town during the Depression era, in cooperation with our friends at the Blythewood Historical Society. The students' research project was a tie-in to their study of Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingird." Come see the fruit of their efforts at a 6:30 reception preceding the 7 PM Town Council meeting--all at The Manor at Doko Meadows. The student projects will also be on display at the Langford-Nord House during regular Visitor Center hours (Thursday & Friday, 12-5 PM; Saturday, 10 AM - 2 PM).

Did you know: The answer to last week's newsletter was Zion United Methodist Church.  It was built in the late 1700's or early 1800's making it one of the oldest churches in the area.  Dr. B. Rhett Turnipseed was one of Zion's most memorable ministers, growing up in Cedar Creek and from the first graduating class at Clemson University in 1896. He later became the President of Lander College.

Do you Know:  What 2 things were originally on the Trinity Methodist Church land? Hint... One is now behind the library and enjoyed by many Blythewood friends!
