Free Course Gives Residents
Inside Look at Richland County


The 2017 edition of Richland 101 is about to begin!
Richland 101 is a free, annual course that teaches residents the basics of Richland County Government.

This year's classes will take place at a variety of County facilities, including Council Chambers, the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, the Emergency Operations Center and the Jim Hamilton-L.B. Owens Airport. Speakers include elected officials and representatives from different County departments.

Classes are 6 p.m.-8 p.m. every Monday and Thursday from March 9 to April 10, with a special graduation ceremony for participants at the Columbia Museum of Art, one of the many local institutions funded by Richland County. Camp Discovery will host a Sweetwater Basket-Making presentation and class,
Saturday, March 11
from 9:00 to noon.
