February 15-17th Weekend

Who says a good man's hard to find?  Not so in Blythewood!  We've got some of the best around and even more coming to town!

This Weekend in Blythewood
February 15th, 16th and 17th

Who says a good man's hard to find?  Not so in Blythewood!  We've got some of the best around and even more coming to town!

Sweet Georgia Brown!
For those of us who remember the original Harlem Globetrotters, this event is sure to please.  The second generation of highflying slam dunks, dazzling ball handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines is coming to Blythewood.....more specifically...Westwood High School the afternoon of March 10.   The Harlem Ambassadors will take on the Recreation Rebounders, a team of local celebrities, for an evening of fun for all ages.  Tickets can be purchased online at
www.richlandcountyrecreation.com and at the Adult Activity Center, 7494 Parklane Road.
General admission is $9, Children $5 and Students/Seniors and Active Military $7 in advance.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door on the day of the game.
It's BETTER than your Grandfather's basketball show so come on out, bring the kids and whistle a little more 'Sweet Georgia Brown" just  for old time's sake!

Finding History in Your Backyard

Whether you're a member of the Blythewood Historical Society or not, you're going to want to come hear Dr. Walter Edgar's presentation on March 12, at the Langford-Nord House.   Dr. Edgar, professor emeritus at the University of South Carolina,  has authored several books on South Carolina history and culture and will be the special guest of the Historical Society for that evening.  Admission is free to members of the Historical Society and $10 for non-members.  Please call to reserve your spot by calling 803.333.8133.   The event may be moved to a larger venue depending on the number of reservations, so don't delay!  Who knows, you may discover a piece of history right out your own back door.

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown
