One Week Left!



Register now so you can tee it up with a friend for a fun night of "Glow Ball' on April 19 at the Golf Club of South Carolina at Crickentree.  The Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce is presenting 9 holes of golf fun with a shotgun start at 7:30pm.  Two person teams are $100 and individual players are $60.  All the proceeds will go to scholarships for our local Blythewood students.  Come tee it up and have a ball...."Glow Ball" that is.

Walk a mile or two...or three
Come on out tomorrow and support the efforts of a senior student at Blythewood High School who is hosting a 5K run/walk at the school at 10:00 am.  The fundraiser  benefits  the Hidden Wounds organization, which is a local group dedicated to providing counseling and services for veterans suffering from PTSD and related illnesses.  What a wonderful way to give back to  our veterans and stay fit at the same time!

Opening day is just around the corner!!  Drop by the Blythewood Visitors Center on Tuesday, April 16th and enjoy some delicious goodies made by local caterer Mary Ellen Tobias and Linda and Richard Hewlette of The Company of OHS.  Sip a cup of blended tea from the Cornwallis House Tea Co. from Winnsboro, while you sit and chat with a friend.
The self-serve 'tea room' will begin serving  every week Tuesday - Friday from Noon - 5:00 pm.  Bring a friend and enjoy a 'spot of tea' each afternoon.

Carl Bell's in the running......


One of  Blythewood's local artists, Carl Bell, is competing in the Artfields Epic Southern Artfest Competition and Celebration in Lake City, SC.  His beautiful painting of a heron was juried into the competition and Carl is now in the running to win $50,000 for his talent. 
Plan to attend this inaugural arts event which begins April 19 in Lake City and continues through April 28.
Cast a vote for Carl's heron and help him bring home the prize!!!  Good luck Carl!

.....and it's all about heading over to Cobblestone Park on May 18th for the 5th Annual Blythewood Beach Bash presented by Bravo Blythewood
Come enjoy the musical sounds of  The Sensational Epics and dance the night away or just sit and relax with a burger and drink.  It's fun with a purpose because as in years past, all proceeds from this event go directly to the American Cancer Society.
