This Weekend in Blythewood January 10th, 11th and 12th Community Internship Program The students in Blythewood High School's Community Internship Program will be showcasing their career internships and community service projects on Thursday, January 9 at 8:45 am in the small gym at BHS.  Students in the program have been working with mentors across the Midlands and getting a taste of just what this working life is all about.   The students have been exposed to careers in a huge variety of fields and will 'show off' the projects in which they've been a part.  Plan to come take a look at what some of our Blythewood students are learning.  There's more to school than what's in a book! Bravo Blythewood's new  Community Theatre is holding auditions tomorrow evening, Thursday, January 9th, from 7pm -9pm and Saturday morning, Jan. 11th from 9am - Noon.  Bravo Blythewood hopes you will come be a part of the 'next big thing' in our town.    Auditions will be held  at The Manor @ Doko Meadows.     When you come to audition please bring a song with music or background and be prepared to read a short portion from a script.  The performance dates will be April 3-6. Gordon Coogler WAS a poet and he and many others knew his work quite well.  Mr. Coogler was born in Blythewood in 1865 and became known for his poetry throughout Columbia.  In fact, J. Gordon owned a print shop and would write "Poems While You Wait".  What a 'novel' idea!! Stand aside Hallmark! Mr. Coogler's poetry was not always well received but Bravo Blythewood deems his work quite worthy of a celebration so a J. Gordon Coogler Poetry Festival has been created in his honor and memory.  Make plans now to find your inner poet and come Coogle! Schedule of events coming next week!
