Saturday, May 30, 3:00-4:00 Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! for ages 6-12.  Come join us as we learn about bugs and build a bug condo to take home.  Please register online at www.richlandlibrary.com/events or call 691-9806







     Friday, May 15th from 5:30 until 8:00 Muller Midddle School will hold its first Mustang Mania Silent Auction at Doko Manor.  Auction items will include items from the S.C. State Museum, Riverbanks Zoo, NASCAR Hall of Fame and many others.  Come join in the fun with food from Scottie's and Rita's, music and  a photo booth! The fundraiser will help build a permanent concession stand at the school's football field.








The Blythewood High School Blue Legion Band and Reeses Plants are hosting a fundraiser Thursday, May 28- Saturday, May 30.  Present this coupon ( or the newsletter)  when you shop at Reese's and 10% of your purchase will help support the band.














     The Westwood High School
Redhawks Fine Arts  camp will be held June 15-18th for kids K-4th grade.  The cost
is $125 with a $25 deposit due

The Central Carolina FORCE AAU Basketball 9th grade team will host a Car Wash on Saturday, May 23 from 9:00 until 2:00 p.m. The Car Wash will be held at Walgreens located at 2725 Clemson Road.  The cost is $5 with donations welcomed.  The funds raised will be used to help support the team to attend the National Tournament in July.  For more information call 803-730-7717.

 The Central Carolina Force is a 501(c)(3)  nonprofit AAU basketball organization founded in 2010 whose mission is to provide a positive structured environment for student-athlets and parents by teaching the importance of disciplice, academic achievement, good decision making, teamwork and respect.







The Blythewood Farmers Market is opened every Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00.  Great produce, great fun!






Blythewood After 5, sponsored by the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce, will celebrate the grand opening of the new First Community Bank on Thursday, May 21 from 5:30 until 7 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony will start at 6 with refreshments catered by Eve's Southern Gourmet.      The Blythewood Historical Society is planning two events for the 2015 Memorial Day weekend, May 24th
and 25th.  There will be a Veteran's Day rememberance and flag retirement ceremony Sunday, May 24th at the Langford-Nord House on the corner
of McNulty and Main Street in Blythewood.  The program willl start at 3:30 with a patriotic ceremony saluting all veterans, living and deceased. There wil be a  public recognition of veterans by branch of service, a few brief words and then the flag retirement ceremony led by the local Boy Scouts.  Those wishing to retire and properly dispose of their old flags may drop them off at Town Hall  (M-F, from 8-5)  or bring them to the ceremony. The ceremony will
end with Taps and light refreshments.

     The Society will also launch its "Help Us Raise Our Flag" campaign to fund a lighted flag pole and flags that will eventually serve as the focal point for a larger memorial on the grounds of the Langford-Nord House.  Donations to the memorial in honor or in memory of a loved one will be accepted and acknowledged by the Society.

     A Memorial Day BBQ Sale will be held Monday, May 25th between 7 a.m. and noon.The  BBQ sale, by Blythewood's best barbecue masters, include pork butts, shredded pork and hash and  must be pre-ordered and prepaid by May 18th. Order forms are available at Town Hall, the Langford-Nord House and other locations around Blythewood.  For more information about the Memorial Day BBQ sale, call Chris Keefer at 803-315-8817. 


New Hours for the Blythewood Historical Society are now  Wednesdays, from noon until 4:00 and by appointment.  For more information call 333-8133.
