will celebrate a ribbon cutting ceremony at Blythewood's newest retail store:
Good Dollar, in the IGA Shopping Center on Blythewood Rd.

The Big Red Barn
offers 2 yoga classes to the community.
Monday, 6 pm to 7:30 pm and Thursday, 4:30 pm to 6 pm.
 Monies from the donations to the class help fund therapeutic yoga for soldiers suffering from PTSD.





The Blythewood
Christmas Parade 
is Sunday,December 13th
at 3:00pm
and is now accepting applications for entries and sponsors.  Entry and sponsor forms can be found at blythewoodchamber.com

All net proceeds from the parade go to the Parade Scholarship Fund which awards scholarship money each spring to deserving high school seniors who live or attend school in the 29016 zip code.

Poetry Out Loud

Bravo Blythewood Cultural Arts Council
hosts the S.C. Region 2 of the state-wide competition for students in grades 9-12. Teachers interested in participating in the S.C. competition must register with the S.C. Arts Commission by Friday, November 20. 
Parents and students interested in participating may talk to  their school's teacher for information. Participating schools only need a minimum of 2 students competing at the school level.  Forms available online at www.southcarolinaarts.com.

 A $25 registration fee includes an event medal and T-shirt. All funds raised will go to help students, teachers and the staff of RCSD2 who were impacted by the recent floods.

 NEW HOURS FOR PARK GATES: On weekdays, the gates at the Sandfield and McLean Road entrances will be open only from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This is to prevent drive-through traffic and speeding drivers that are endangering park patrons. The park is accessible at all times through the Langford Road entrance.
