Have a Great Weekend!!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling...

There will be hundreds of bicycles rolling through the beautiful neighborhood of Cobblestone Park this weekend at the 5th Annual Blythewood Omnium:  Presented by Cobblestone Park.   This event is as much fun for spectators as it is for the competing cyclists so bring your lawn chair out and find a corner to watch the many races that will take place Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m and continueing all day.  The Kids' Race will be Sunday at 1:10 pm and should prove to be great fun to watch!!  The first 100 elementary age children that participate will receive a T-shirt...so don't pass up the opportunity to let your child have some fun and compete on a 3/10 mile loop.  Come on out and enjoy the fun!

Get a great Omnium Poster created by local artist, Craig Dukes, member of the
  Blythewood Artists Guild.
Posters will be available for purchase for $12 and $9 for cyclists.

An Evening with Walter Edgar

Dr. Walter Edgar, professor emeritus at the University of South Carolina, will be in town next Tuesday, March 12 for a presentation on Finding History in Your Backyard.   The Blythewood Historical Society is sponsoring the
7 PM presentation that will be held at The Manor at Doko Meadows.   This is the first event to be held in The Manor so attendees will be able to get a "Sneak Peek" of the building before its official completion. Feel free to bring copies of any books you may have that Dr. Edgar has authored.   He will be happy to sign your copy after the program.  Admission is free to members of the Historical Society and $10 for non-members.  Please call to reserve your spot by calling 803.333.8133.
