May 3rd-5th Weekend

You don't need to travel very far this weekend to find just what you're looking for.  Get out and about and explore because it's going to be a great weekend in Blythewood!
This Weekend in Blythewood
May 3rd, 4th and 5th

 for History

Are you working on your geneology?  Do you want to know what went on around Blythewood during the Revolutionary War?  Whatever the question you just might find the answer in the new non-lending library that the Historical Society has set up at the Langford-Nord House.  Thanks to a grant from the Richland County Conservation Commission, the Blythewood Historical Society has acquired some great resources for folks to use.   Come enjoy a cup of tea while you browse through books and documents that might just unlock your personal history.
If you're out and about at 6:00pm tonight, stop by the Langford-Nord House for the official ribbon cutting for the library.  Come as you are and be a part of another piece of Blythewood History!

One More Week!

Don't forget to sign up
for the
Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce  Glow Ball Golf Tournament.
The tournament has been rescheduled for May 10.    There's still plenty of time  to register for 9 holes of golf played IN THE DARK at the Golf Club of South Carolina at Crickentree. What fun!!!  The shotgun start is at 7:30pm and it's only $100 for a 2 person team or $60 per person.  Come join the fun and help the Chamber raise some scholarship money for our local Blythewood students.

Make a Big Splash!!

Come make a splash for the American Cancer Society on May 18th when  Bravo Blythewood hosts the 5th Annual  Blythewood Beach Bash, a fun, relaxing event being held at Cobblestone Park.    The Beach Bash provides a great night of beach music offered up by The Sensational Epics and DJ, Gene Lee.   Wear your shagging shoes to 'cut a rug' under the stars or just bring your lawn chair and sit back and relax.  Either way, it's all about raising money for the ACS.    After the music stops, we all will have made a difference for someone we know who has been in the fight with cancer.
Make your plans now!

Have a Festive Weekend!!

Celebrate the Arts!

The streets of Ridgeway are quiet right now but starting tonight the little town, just six miles north of us, will be starting their 7th year of celebrating Arts on the Ridge.  Come on out tomorrow to stroll  through the shops on Palmer Street and visit the vendors in the cotton yard for some unique gifts and great art.  Be sure to go to the Century House for the tremendous show of artwork from area artists.  Quite a few of our own Blythewood artists will be on hand.
Congratulations, Ridgeway, on your continued efforts to showcase our local talent!

Stop for Art!

You can find art in the most unusual places.  Take a drive through Doko Meadows and be sure to notice the new stop signs that have just been installed.  Local metal artist Barney Burns has created some beautiful frames for the signage that's going up in the park.  Talk about a unique touch!  Thanks, Barney for sharing your talents with your town!
