This Weekend in Blythewood, October 8th-10th

Please join the Blythewood Historic Society tonight at 6:00 pm to dedicate the newly renovated Miss Clara's Sandwich Shop  (with an old fashion ice cream social afterwards) and the dedication of the new Veterans Memorial Flag Pole. The event is at 100 McNulty Street at the Langford-Nord House. All are welcome!

The Blythewood Christian Assistance Bridge located at 126 Blythewood Road is taking donations if you would like to help out the flood victims in the area.  They are opened on Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00 to 1:00 or call 786-1903 for more information.

The Blythewood Historic Society
is in need of volunteers for the
4th Annual Native American Program
October 12-14
from 8:30 to 12:30.
 Three local elementary schools will participate in this field study. Students will engage in six different hands-on demonstrations and activities that will introduce them to the customs and culture of the Native Americans who once inhabited the Blythewood area.  Contact Frankie McLean at 261-1859 if you are interested in helping with this project.

The game will be played at Keenan High School located at 361 Pisgah Church Road, Columbia.  We may

cheerleading for this worthwhile event!

The Big Red Barn,
located on 8024 Winnsboro Road
( Hwy. 321) in Blythewood,
has donation based Yoga  Classes open to community members to support soldiers suffering from PTSD.

 The classes  are on

Also... The 2015-2016 Poetry Out Loud program has officially begun! Bravo Blythewood Cultural Arts Council hosts the S.C. Region 2 of the state-wide competition for students in grades 9-12. Teachers interested in participating in the S.C. competition must register with the S.C. Arts Commission by Friday, November 6.  Forms available online at www.southcarolinaarts.com.




Also...if you receive water from the City of Columbia continue boiling  until further notice.  The Winnsboro Water customers are OK to use their water without boiling it.
